I am an experiential therapist utilizing Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to work with clients who are dealing with shock and pervasive trauma. This includes trauma related issues of post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, codependency as well as somatic symptomology. I have extensive experience working with clients grappling with complex trauma. I am strongly influenced by therapeutic approaches that empower individuals to find solutions and heal the whole self. As a therapist, I believe that everyone possesses an ability to heal; mind, body and spirit. I enjoy helping clients develop the tools and insight to face life’s challenges and find true happiness.
I am licensed in the State of Texas as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor). I am certified as a SEP (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner) and am EMDR trained. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. In addition, I hold a Master of Arts degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from Saint Louis University. I am a Reiki Master and Registered Yoga Teacher with a specialty in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, as taught by the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute, Yoga for 12 Step Recovery (Y12SR) and Meditation.
