I am committed to supporting and equipping people for their healing journey. I believe everyone has the capacity to grow and change in ways that serve them better when they have the tools and support they need. I work with people through a psychological, social and emotional lens to promote growth and wellness. I have helped children, adolescents, adults, couples and families work through issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, spiritual questions, parenting challenges, postpartum mood disorders, and PTSD.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree from the University of Kansas, a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago and a Master in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Chicago. I have continued my education in Compassion Fatigue, Trauma Treatment and Healing Shame.
I am credentialed by the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. I have trained in Theraplay, a style of therapy for children ages 3 and older. Additionally, I am an Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor, including the Public Safety and Higher Education modules. I have spoken often at churches, community groups, and police departments. I am a contributing author to When Kids Ask Hard Questions: Faith-Filled Responses for Tough Topics.
